Biossance’s Sustainable, Ocean-Friendly Mission in Action

May 01, 2023

Sustainability is in the brand DNA at Biossance, which is why employees from New York to Hawaii volunteered their time to beautify local beaches in the sustainable skincare brand’s first-ever nationwide beach cleanup.

Led by Erica Salgado, Associate Director of Integrative Marketing, Biossance teams met at nine beaches the Friday before Earth Day to honor the holiday — and the brand’s eco-friendly mission — with action.

From its squalane-powered skincare formulas to its partnership with Oceana, Biossance has been dedicated to marine conservation from its inception. The volunteer beach cleanup demonstrated Biossance employees’ personal connection and commitment to the brand’s link with ocean conservation.

“Our first-ever nationwide beach cleanup spoke volumes about our employees’ commitment to sustainability,” says Salgado. “It’s inspiring to work with such a passionate group of people who truly live and breathe the messaging we’re putting forward.”

Over two dozen employees volunteered their time to clean up nine beaches nationwide including Rockaway Beach in Queens, New York, Baker Beach in San Francisco, Santa Monica State Beach in Los Angeles, and Diamond Head in Honolulu.

Many brought friends and family — and even pets — to help beautify local beaches. They then uploaded photos and videos of the cleanup event to their social media feeds using #BiossanceBeachCleanUp to help raise further awareness about ocean conservation. Biossance then amplified the content’s impact by reposting it on the brand’s official social media accounts, including Instagram and Tik Tok.
