Bloomberg’s GEI honors Amyris’ work in support of gender equality.
For a second year in a row, Amyris has been named alongside nearly 500 public companies committed to gender equality by the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). The prestigious index provides insight into an opaque area of ESG data reporting by specifically measuring gender equality across five pillars:
“As a company, Amyris is truly committed to the social aspect of sustainable investing,” said Beth Bannerman, Chief Engagement and Sustainability Officer at Amyris. “We recognize the importance of a diverse workforce, and our hiring and workplace policies reflect this, providing equal employment opportunities and promoting a work environment that embraces diversity in every form. With a workforce of 58 percent of people who identify as women, we have taken important steps to work toward gender pay equity, including routine audits that help highlight gaps to be addressed.”
The GEI serves as a touchstone for companies seeking to track their progress in gender inclusion and how the implementation of diversity policies shape company performance. The 2023 GEI includes 484 total public companies from a variety of sectors including banking and payments, technology, and utilities. Over 45 countries and region were represented.
